How Transactions Are Created in Sumung

A transaction reaches your bank account in one of three ways: a Plaid sync, a manual statement import, or a manually entered Deposit, Withdrawal, or Transfer.

Steps

  1. Plaid-connected accounts pull in transactions automatically from your bank feed.
  2. Uploading a statement (CSV, Excel, or PDF) creates transaction lines from the file's rows.
  3. Using Add Deposit, Add Withdrawal, or Transfer (Contra) from Manage Account creates a transaction directly, for activity that didn't come through a bank feed or file.
  4. However a transaction is created, it appears on Review Transactions (or directly on Posted Transactions, for manual entries) for you to confirm.
