What Is the Difference Between Groups and Smart Lists

Groups are a fixed set of contacts you pick by hand. Smart Lists are saved searches that automatically include any contact matching a set of conditions, now or…

Steps

  1. Use a Group when you want full manual control over exactly who's included.
  2. Use a Smart List when you want a list that stays current automatically, based on conditions like purchase history.
  3. Build a Group from the "Groups" tab. Build a Smart List from the "Smart Lists" tab.
  4. Both can be used to organize contacts for reporting or targeted communication.
