Why Is My Bank Account Showing Under Assets

This is expected - a bank account represents money the business holds, so it's categorized as an Asset, the same as Cash on Hand or Accounts Receivable.

Steps

  1. Go to Finances → Chart of Accounts and click the "Assets" tab to see it alongside other asset accounts.
  2. Its Account ID, the bank name, and the account number (partially shown) appear in the Description column.
  3. Turn on "Groups" to see it specifically listed under the "Cash and Bank" sub-group within Assets.
